Get Me Google! Some Funny Blog Stats

December 17, 2010

Who doesn’t like stats?

You know, over here at Premise PUNCH Tag, my crack team of bloggers (me) aren’t just having a laugh all day.  We (I) also scour wordpress statistics to see exactly what YOU, the people, want to read.  WordPress offers a wealth of statistical information, from which articles are most popular, to what day of the week is most busy, to what links people click the most.

This helps me and the staff (a bag of sunflower seeds) to evolve and adapt in order to serve the readers (my mom and some of her friends) better.

Why am I talking about this?  Because of one particular statistic that is HILARIOUS.  You see, when someone does a Google search and ends up at the blog, WordPress records the search term that led them here.  Since the launch of the blog in August, some amusing info has cropped up.  Now, without further ado on this windy Friday, I give you…

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT THE INTERNET:

(Note that the number next to the search term is how many people searched for it and found the blog as a result)

PEOPLE WANT TO BLOW SHIT UP : Bomb – 186

PEOPLE WANT TO SEE OLD NAKED GUYS: Old naked guy -13

PEOPLE WANT TO BLOW A GREAT DEAL OF SHIT UP:  A-bomb – 11

PEOPLE ARE NOT JUST INTERESTED IN OLD NAKED MEN: Naked old people – 11

PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE STATE OF JAY LENO’S JAW: Jay Leno chin – 17

A SMALL HANDFUL OF PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT RUDE BOYS: Rude boy – 6

PEOPLE FIND NAKED MEN AMUSING: Naked man funny – 5

SOMEHOW, SEARCHING BARBARA TODISH ON GOOGLE LEADS TO MY BLOG: Barbara Todish – 4

3 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN THIS: Guy shooting a bazooka – 3

WHICH TIED IN POPULARITY WITH THIS: Nickelback – 3

SOME PEOPLE WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS OF THEIR SEARCH FOR NAKED OLD PEOPLE AND DECIDED TO ADAPT THEIR SEARCH STRATEGY: Old people naked – 3

Have a great weekend!
