Friday is Sketch Day – Parole Hearing

June 3, 2011

TGIF, you palookas.

Today’s sketch is one that I sat on for awhile before pitching it at read-through.  I wrote it during a phase where I was watching a lot of Monty Python, and was enjoying the process of writing totally silly scenes.  I was also interested in working on silly voices.   Due credit to John Wagner, brilliant writer and creator of Judge Dredd for getting the idea of “pizen” in my head.

What I Learned: Once a performer in a scene starts laughing, it’s all over for keeping a straight face.

Fun Fact: The silly voice I use in this sketch was born as a character named “Joe the Boxer” I used to voice on a radio show I c0-produced in University called “Chuckleby Jones, Funniest Man on Earth.”

Favourite Moment: Getting to wear that dopey wig.
